If you're reading this, obviously people are finding this blog. Which is good! If a little premature. Since I don't really have any restaurant-related content for you yet, why don't I give you a little back story and some insight into just whose ramblings you're reading?
I'm the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hazel. We were a large, happy family until recently, when Mr. Hazel contracted throat cancer. I won't get into specifics, but he is no longer with us. It's tough, but so are we.
While Mom has a stable job, she's not sure if it's what she wants to do with the rest of her life. Me and my sister, we're having some troubles finding jobs ourselves at the moment, but I suppose that's to be expected at this point. So, recently, Mom brought up an idea: the prospect of opening a restaurant.
Now, it's come up in the past. We've been batting the idea around, on and off, for years. But every time it seemed like a possibility, personal or financial issues got in the way. Now, however, we have a good reason. We have some money that Dad left us. Property around here is cheap. Without getting our hopes to high, the idea might just be viable.
My two passions are cooking, and writing. Since I've seen some other lovely blogs about cooking, some even about starting restaurants in their area, it only seemed natural that I start ours. I'm sure it will be quite a journey. Will you join us?
